5 Things I’d buy if I won the Lottery- 52 weeks of Blogging with a purpose

July 17, 2013

This was actually a difficult question for me to answer.
Of course there are more than 5 things I would like to do with the money if I had it.
First of all, let’s assume this hypothetical treasure is infinite.
If I am going to win the Lottery, it’s not going to be $50,000.00
It’s going to be $500 million, let’s get that straight.

1.First I would pay off debt. No one wants that peering over their shoulder. Be that credit cards, cars, student loans or mortgages. Pay it all off. The hubs obviously quits his daily grind.

Then get myself someone I could trust in the financial planning world and invest so I could live off the interest and continue making even more money with my money.

2.Next I would pay off the mortgages of mine and the hub’s parents.
Thus allowing for retirement of both parties and in turn giving me …babysitters when ever I want! Because I will need them, for all the shopping I am about to do. Oh, and life is short, you only live once, we owe them everything, respect your elders and yadda yadda yadda.

3.Then I would buy ( in cash) a new house…. or two….or three
I am thinking, one in Seattle ( keepin’ it real), one in San Diego ( a whale’s Vagina) and a vacation home in shall we say, Italy. Because I am worldly like that.

4.These purchases would be followed by lots of trips in private planes for all my friends to vacation, on my dime.
Because after all, what fun is money if you don’t have someone to enjoy it with?

5.And of course  I would give back. Duh.
 Donations,charities, businesses and all that.
I couldn’t imagine having this kind of money and not handing it out constantly.
Heck, when I made money from the Chevy commercial I felt the urge to give back almost every time the opportunity presented it’s self.( It was a confusing feeling for me) and I was definitely not making millions.

A lot of the other bloggers who linked up with this post ended in saying that they didn’t actually play the Lottery so their chances of this becoming a reality were zero.
To that I say, ” More for me betches!”
I play weekly.
So, it’s all in due time before I am rich rich filthy rich.

That woman might not be a bitch at all. She just suffers from bitchy resting face.

July 15, 2013

Please excuse my asshole face
I thought I was the only one.
Until I came across an article in People Magazine ( You know, the reliable gossip mag…) about actress Anna Paquin and her self proclaimed bitchy resting face.
I was so excited, I folded the corner back on the page and made sure to show Steve.
I guess hoping to prove to him it was a legit diagnosis.

You may remember my post back in 2010 regarding this topic.
She’s not giving you the stink eye, that’s just the way her face looks.
Ya see…it has been a life long problem I have “suffered” from.

This Video explains it all.
No, seriously.
I’m not a bitch.
This is just the way my face looks.
Meh.

Love it so much more!
What do you think of the lattice on the top?
I thought this pattern was more craftsman looking than the diagonal lattice you often see.

Hee-Hee- Hoooo- PUSH!

July 8, 2013

Even though it was Clark’s 1st Birthday, Mama got herself a lil gifty poo too.
Steve gave me a belated Push Present.
One Year, better late than never!
 I really wasn’t expecting anything.
The Mr. is a no frills kinda guy and I knew hoping for a material item as a thank you for carrying his child inside my fragile body for almost an entire year while enduring all day sickness, constant monitoring and handling by strangers, ending in a finale of hours of medicine free labor and pushing catapulting said 7lb 14oz fetus out of my body, was just wishful thinking.
Well I have three words for you :
Limited Edition Betches!
Unknown to me, Steve had been shopping around for a gift of jewelry to give me, but when he heard about the love I had for this watch he jumped at the chance to get me something I had already picked out!
Which I appreciate.
I hate looking a gift horse in the mouth.
After convincing him this was the ultimate gift and I would surely die without it….or worse not have another baby ever again, we had a conversation that went a little like this:
Steve ” Are you sure this isn’t a men’s watch??”
Me “Yes, I am sure. It’s called Oversized and it’s badass.”
Tah DAH

Not only is it a beaut, it’s also a good cause.

The 100 Series watch is
part of the brand’s partnership with the UN’s World Food Program.
100 children will receive a meal for ever watch sold.
All in an effort to stop world hunger.

Here are some other ladies sporting the time keeper.
I love how chunky it is !
And all the bracelets with it.
Perfect!

Yay!
Feel free to ask me the time anytime now because I would love an excuse to look at it again!

Happy FIRST Birthday Clark!

July 6, 2013

Yep, that’s right.
It has been a WHOLE year!

This post was going to be about Motherhood and all the ups and downs that I have encountered in the first year.
But I think I will save that for another time.
This day is really about Clark and all his wonder.
So I will let him have it.
Happy 1st Birthday Clark

Arts n Farts for Clarky’s 1st Birthday!

July 5, 2013

I have been hard at work on all kinds of fun projects that Clark won’t even remember for his 1st Birthday!
I am such a good Mom.
*Rolls eyes*
Giddy Up
This art project took me a little while to whip up but it turned out pretty cute.
I read a tip on Pinterest ( the Devil) that I should “seal” chalk projects with a little hair spray at the end.
Then it can be easily washed off with soap and warm water when you want to change the board.
Great idea!
Well, I tried it and it totally didn’t work and I smeared the chalk all over the place.
Maybe I had the wrong hairspray?
Before:
Garage Sale 1.00
After:
Next I decided I wanted to find a cute highchair for Clark to sit in when he eats his birthday cake.
I scoured Craigslist and when I say scoured I mean that I found this chair on the first look.
It was located in a town about 2 hours away, which I was not driving all the way to for this silly thing.
So, I asked my Mother in law instead!
She lives about 20 min from there and was able to get it the next day for me.
It needed a little help though, the plain wood wasn’t real cute.
Before:
Craigslist 20.00
So I painted it flat red and then stenciled a few Western things onto it.
When that was dry, I went back over it with fine sand paper and distressed the edges.
I wiped it all down with a damp rag and then sprayed the entire thing with a clear gloss to seal it.
After:

And last, we have a silly pallet.
The same silly pallet you see all day long on Pinterest.
You know, the one you can make into a sofa or table or bed or planter or …..heck I dunno, anything you could normally make out of WOOD!
Wow.
What a concept.
Let’s use some crap wood to make other things that you could make out of wood all along.
Before:
Free- Our concrete for the backyard was on it
After:

I made this project way harder than it needed to be btw.
The plan of how to make this happen was that we would wrap some wire around the rope and then shape it onto the wood.
That wasn’t going to look good though.
So we decided to painstakingly weave the wire into the braid of the rope.
Which involved two people, a vice grip and a lot of team work.
Once the rope was transformed into a “wire rope” we shaped it on top of the pallet and staple gunned it into place.
After we were done, we realized that we really didn’t need the wire at all, we could have just layed the rope out and stapled it.
Lesson learned.
Lots more to come but you will have to wait till after the party to see!
