The leaning Mirror

I have been searching for a leaning mirror for my house for over a year.

They are all way to expensive.
I found a contender last year at Ikea for $99.00, which was a steal of a deal considering all the other ones I found were $400.00 and up.

I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it though.
It had a thick wood frame around it and even if I painted it white or stained it, I knew I wouldn’t be 100% happy with it.

I am glad I held out.

I found the perfect mirror at Marshalls!

It was $99.00 and it has a thick resin antique white baroque trim.
It’s a solid trim too, not the flimsy plasticy casted kind that you find a lot of frames in this style made out of.

Which happens to match perfectly with the bed i got for my master bedroom.

( That is still under construction)

And in recent discoveries… this mirror turns out to make you look 20 lbs lighter than you actually are!

I don’t know if it is due to the fact that it is leaning and not hanging on the wall or if the mirror its self is warped.

I’m not sure how I feel about this.

I know a lot of people have a “skinny” mirror in their house.

It makes me feel great when I look in it,

but at the same time , I know it is a liar.

Anyone else have this problem?!

My plan is to put it in the walk in closet.

Master Creations

I changed my mind about the plans for my master suite.

I thought i wanted light , airy and blue.

Lately I have been finding some darker shades more appealing.

I think I can still have a pop of blue in the room, but I am loving charcoal grey walls!

I know, dark paint in a room, scary!

In my case though, I think it would work great.

Since the bedroom is upstairs and i have sloped ceilings from the roof line, I would leave those sections white.

Similar to this:

So the dark paint would be on the lower half of both sides as well as the back wall that the white bed will be against.

Here is my inspiration thus far.

Still planning to use the mirrored side tables I bought

Love these drapes but I think if I went with the bedding below it would be too much.

But…. then again, I really like the light blue

The Carnival of Love Part One

This couple obviously shared in my love of all things colorful and deep fried.

I think this looks like one of the funnest weddings I never attended.

Not to mention, a TON of planning and work.

But, totally worth it!

Hey, it’s not my money.

I am willing to say it is one of my favorite weddings to date.

This idea is all trailer and no trash.

While researching for my last post I found one of the cutest little businesses.

Enjoy Cupcakes

It is a mobile catering company that comes to your events in the most adorable trailer you have ever seen.

Well ok… 2nd most adorable.

Their site states:

An Airstream Wedding

I am so in love with the concept of serving food, snacks, drinks or treats from vintage trailers and food carts.

I have yearned for an Airstream trailer since I was little.

I don’t think my Camaro has the towing power to lug one around but I would be happy to let it sit in my yard just the same!

Confessions of a Shopoholic

Last week I made sure to stop at the mall because it was the beginning of the Victoria’s Secret Semi Annual Sale.

You know, the one where you fight the masses to dig through labeled bins of 32A and 38Ds to find the one 36C that might be crawling at the bottom.

There are always good deals to be had, but sometimes you really have to work for them.
I am lucky enough to live near one of the few Victoria’s Secret PINK stores.

The store is devoted specifically to the PINK line that most VS carry a portion of in their main stores.

I am pretty much addicted to their lounge wear.

Yes, I know I am nearing 30… and this line is geared toward college ladies.
But hey, if I can fit into it, damn it, I am going to wear it!

There will be a day when I am sure it won’t fit.

So, for now I am going to enjoy myself.

I made out with a pretty good haul.

I was really hoping to find some hoodies I liked but it was slim pickings.

After the PINK store, I headed down to the regular VS which also happens to be one of the larger stores in the nation with a completely separate room devoted to their beauty products.

Most of which were 75% off!

I was able to get a bronzer and blush for just $3.50 each!

When I worked Seasonal for VS in College they told us in training that VS makeup is made by the same manufacturer as MAC.
I hadn’t doubted this was the truth since then.
I have always been happy with the performance of their products.
However, I did some research prior to posting this blog entry and was unable to find any information to back this information up!
So… it may or may not be true.
I like their makeup either way and if you are a MAC girl and you haven’t given VS a try, you should & yourself a few bucks!
